Recently, I completed my Okegawa Dou. I have just discovered the tragic news of Anthony's passing, and I felt terrible. I thought about doing something in honor of him, so, I lit incense, worked on armor all day, and decided to name this Okegawa Dou "Tony". Now I know the Japanese don't name their armor, but I did, because Anthony was the main source of all of the Japanese armor information that I used to build it. So, in a way, it's kind of like it's his, and not mine. Rest in Peace, Anthony.

The red linen kosode with the dragonflies was originally inspired by Date Saburou Yukiie, so I get this. Saionji no Hana

Very nicely put together. Good eye for the shape, nice rivets, and a full set of kusazuri--he would have really liked this one.

Oh, yes. Does the crossing thread on the top of the kusazuri look wierd? Because I've always seen it as a slanting, straight lacing. like this: Attachments:

Although sugake odoshi doesn't require that much lacing (most of the time it appears to just continue the lacing from the dou down to the kusazuri), when fuller lacing is used they do appear to use the "slanted" (nawame garami) style of lacing, similar to kebiki odoshi. Check out more pictures of armor, though. I've only looked through a few pics on Sengoku Daimyi as I currently lack access to my library.
