I do have step-by-step instructions for ordinary urushi in a book on make-it-yourself tea utensils. ISBN: 4473008134 There is a chapter on making a natsume. Unfortunately I have run into the same problem. I really appreciate the effort you put into searching Solveig - do not and the link. Unfortunately I don't read japanese.
