Greetings,
I'm looking for more detailed information on the history of weaving, the equipment used, and techniques used for any and all periods before Edo.
I've tracked these books down as a general starter and was wondering if anyone could comment on the usefulness of them.
Textiles No. 2 Arts & Crafts of Japan Hardcover – 1957 by Tomoyuki Yamanobe (Author), Lynn Katoh (Translator)
The Traditional Crafts of Japan: Textiles II by Tadashi Inumaru, Mitsukuni Yoshida, Japan Traditional Craft Center
Japanese Textiles by Anna Jackson
What I'm not looking for is information on Kosode patterns or materials, just the how did they make the fabrics. Bonus info on pre-silk weaving greatly appreciated.
