So many compare fall to the summer burning away to winter, but I see a cloak's flourish, revealing beauty beneath.
The cloak pools the floor, revealing the beauty of what was always there beneath the flowing clothing. Embrace; keep away the chill.
Soon enough the bright raiment of spring will cover everything and we will walk out to sunshine. Now, hold tight to what is now.

Oh, you wretched words There on the edge of my lips Tentative and shy Like children in the doorway When strangers come to visit

Coming home at night I find the house is chilly: Time to shut windows. Time too to nestle beneath My favorite wool blanket.

Each time I impose This challenge upon myself I know it will come: More than one night of trying To come up with a topic.

My heart is wistful When I watch the sunshine smile Outside my window The wider world is waiting I shiver on the threshold

Absentminded, I have already missed a day in this challenge, but soldier on I will, although I wish my triple counted.

Colored wisps of cloud Paint the western horizon As sun sinks in bay. A thousand lamps glimmer on Eastern hills as night descends.

So much to do on the weekends that it will be quite a relief to go to work on Monday and relax into simple tasks.

As I grow older The autumn mornings become Ever more poignant Where do I stand this year on The circle of life and death?

Shining in the sun like beads of clear rock crystal on plush black velvet, reflecting the sky above: raindrops on a black dog's back.

As I lay out clothes For tomorrow, I recall Rain has been forecast. My favorite sweater, then. Now where are those warm boot socks?

11/04/15 I am perplexed by The season of this morning Cloaked in Autumn's robes I am kissed by Summer's crown But encased by Winter's howl.
11/05/25 (as posted on facebook) Come and join me here Gather around the camp fire Share a song or two Spread cheer and chocolate squares Between s'mores cooked golden brown.
11/06/15 (as posted on facebook) The path is obscured And forward is all I know So with careful steps I make my way through the night Hoping I do not disturb.
11/07/15 (deja vu?) Around a table We share each other's story An appetizer A drink from great distances An entree prepared with love
11/08/15 exhausted I fall deep into a feathered dream through the shadowed gate just past the midnight draw bridge a starlight palace awaits

Chill descends at night as warmth rises from below. At least it should. What? This radiator is cold. Dear, where is the bleeder key?
