We have two reigns per year in the Sylvan Kingdom of Aethelmearc (Western NY, Northern and Western PA, and all of West Vriginia), and during every reign the crown hosts the Aethelmearc Aecademy and War College, an event dedicated to classes and learning. The Arts and Sciences display encourages the display of experiments and works in progress, to provide examples of this spirit of learning. For some reason, maybe since Their Majesties Aethelmearc, Sir Thomas Byron of Haverford and Sir Ariella of Thornbury, had announced they were intending to wear their brand new Japanese garb, there was a strong presence of Japanese personae in attendance. This was reflected in the Arts and Sciences display. This Kai Awase shell matching game set by Valentina de la Volpe displays the badges of the Society and Kingdom orders. Amano Zenjirou Nakatsune has been practicing sumi-e ink painting, with fine results. Alime bint Yorgi, while Turkish, has been working on some art forms from farther East, like these temari balls. Oribe Tsukime has been having much success with her shibori dyeing experiments. The outfits on majestic display; Her Majesty's outfit by Hara Kikumatsu, and His Majesty's by Ishiyama Yori'ie. As we say in Aethelmearc, VIVANT!
