Yes, This is the real thing. It was sold by a guy in Asia last month on ebay. Not very well made though. I'm not sure about the back, seems like a rush job, and was never polished very well to begin with. Could be an ok buy at less than 300$ Would make a good SCA camp weapon, or guard spear. Could maybe do a home polish to clean it up some. The hamon look ok from what can be seen. The Nakago is broken off at the orign. hole. Kinda cool looking. Would be fun to fight with. Nasty coming and going. Marc

Would be fun to fight with. Nasty coming and going. Marc I have long loved polearms... but this style of yari is truely a thing of beauty... such a graceful line. I do believe I shall have to try building one eventualy... has been a while since I could fire up a forge... (god I have too many hobbies and too long of a list of projects... maybe I would be better trading a friend some work for some work<G>)

Yes they are!!!! I have a sweet Jumonji yari being polished now. Likely from the 1500's. The nakago was broken at the hole, and the mei, from both sides was filed off. but the blade is one of the best I have ever seen. I can't wait to get it back home. Fat wavy hamon all the way around. I will get some pics up when I get it back. Marc
