I wanted to do the Wal-mart carport idea but then my end of the year welding project idea came due and I decided to make it myself. I built this sturdy frame using 1 1/2 and 1 1/4 inch steel tubing and it uses a pin/bolt system to keep it together. The whole tent was engineered to fit into my mini-van without having to put it on the roof. The whole frame weighs about 150 lbs total, which is not too heavy for me to lift. I can also assemble this by myself and it usually takes about 20 minutes. The overall dimensions are 8'x16'x7 1/2'. I think this size is just right for my wife and I to sleep in the back 1/3rd and entertain a small group in the first 2/3rds. I have yet to get the canvas for it (cost enough to build the frame) but it should be finished in the coming year, hopefully. Nevermind me posing with the tent, this picture was for a national welding contest essay that I was writing and I wanted something more exciting than just a plain old tent frame picture. You can also see the fighting fan, that my knight built me to fight with, in the picture. See you on the field, Ujiyori
