Here is the kozane count I am using for the Noble Plastic kozane. The oshi-tsuke in the pattern that I am actually using has 3 lames (as opposed to the image shown below). I am using a 44" waist and 44" chest. I am through only about 40% of the underlacing. Effingham - You mentioned that you are using shoe goop on your kozane. Why? How? ---- Is this a weird bug - I can't seem to reedit onutssuke to read o s h i t s u k e (onutssuke). Got it 's h i t' is being replaced with 'n u t s'. How grown-up of us!

God, I hate that censorship crap. I'd write the company a nasty letter about their heavy-handedness.
The Shoe-Goop serves two functions: (1) it really helps keep all the sane together, and (2) secures the shitagarami to the boards so that NOTHING gives way.

So tell us how much.
Do you apply it with a brush?
Dip it in a pan?
Pour it from a can?
Please tell us Eff-I-am!
---
I got rid of the shit filter. There are many more though. After we get a few more members, I put up a poll and let people vote on whether we should keep it or drop it.

Armours red or armours black They suit my taste both front and back But I will tell you, Ron, you know, There are some places I won't go -- I will not wear blue plastic do.
I just squeeze some of the Goo out on a piece of waste paper and with a small piece of plastic trowel it up and slather it on the lower half of the back of the board.

The kusazuri are only showing four lames because that is all that get shitagarami (underlacing). The fifth lame (not shown) will be is hishinui (or hanagarami).

One would think that I would have started wrong and corrected myself as I went. But ... Noooo ... I knew enough to start correctly and them slipped up after 4 or 5 lames and repeated the mistake 31 times. I will have to cut or grind off the one half unlaced scale. I laced first and cut second only because I don't have access to my tools right now. Closes ups available here: rhinohide.cx/katchuu/domaru/

What are you using for the lace for the shitagarami? Core-less parachute cording, or some other lacing? Did you use barrel plastic for the kanagu mawari? On a related note... Do you know any good sources for plastic in the Outlands, and what type and thinkness should I look for (I don't know the difference between ABS and HDPE or other variants)? Masahide

Several good places depending on quality/type of plastic. I have picked up barrel plastic from Spekkins in Pueblo, and there's a place in Colorado Springs that does glossy plastic, but you have to buy it by the sheet. I need to get some of the glossy this month to finish up my shikiro, and my do.

Would you say shoe goo is better then say hot glue or some other hobby/craft glue? I am almost to the point of gluing the boards together and I am just wondering what needs to be used.
Also for the stopping leathers that it would be okay to use sinew wrapped a few times as opposed to para cord?
