Hey there-- Actually Ancanar is an independant film (http://www.ancanar.com), not based in Tolkien's world, but inspired by it-- similar to Tolkien who coined the term "sub-creation" the writer/director of Ancanar fashioned his own tales, adhering to Tolkien's rules of sub-creation and creating a believable secondary world. The commentary that you cited from my site ;D is just the begining of what will be a published series one day of the entire world of Ancanar--a critical analysis if you will of the tales of Sam Balcomb--perhaps in the spirit of modern critical analysis of Tolkien's works, which I have published as well. The language of Reamilya, is akin to an ancient tongue, hence my calling it as such, it is fashioned after aramaic, hebrew and sanskrit in its lettering and is spoken in similar fashions. My fiance( and cochair of the society) and I bear reamilyan names: Olyanë (Soul of the Hawk Sword, inspired by my personal familiar the Hawk, and the Hagakure passage cited in my forum signature) Mallas= Falcon Feather, also inspired by our winged kin- You can say in a fashion that we are the first "re-enactors" (I really dislike that term for what we all do) to be in the guise of Ancanar personas-- I tend to have a mixture of Norse and Japanese (odd I know) in my combat and armour styles--- Ideally when the film is finished, and we have produced companion guides to the literature and lore behind it we want to do LARP or combat scenarios fashioned after the tales. Many thanks for the question and hope I can answer anything further ;D Olyanë
