hello
I'm currently working on a couple of zunari kabuto, but i'm planning to do a momonari as my next project, unfortunately i can't figure out how the sections join at the medial ridge!
Are they simply raised ribs on each half with rivets past through?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Basically, although 1 ridge has a lip (picture this upside down L <-->l ). It can also be done in a 4 (or 5) piece form.

I'd just like to add to what Mykaru has said. Most momonari are actually four plate helmets. If you can look at their inside, you can see the lines of the plates; they're just lacquered smooth on the outside.
I love momonari. My dress helm is a momo.
