1) could i get the supplier of said brown kydex date, if you know it...
I'm not much help to you locally.
2) if the dou, sode and kusazuri are kydex, what would be a good guage/type of steel to cover the kanagu mawari(sp) and haiodate, suneate, and kote plates?
You could probably use the kydex there, too. it would use up some of that honkin' big sheet.
3) anyone ever try to lace a mogami dou in kebiki? will this as a first armour drive me to the brink of insanity?
Yes, my retainer has. There's a thread with pictures somewhere's about. The lacing of it won't drive you to insanity, but punching the holes might.
4)how does one bend and shape kydex? I am a rather small guy and would like to have my armour fit the closest to me...
If you have one, you can use a heat gun. Otherwise, I put it into an oven at 225F or so. Put a heavy towel or such around you, then have someone grab the plastic with gloves and form it to you.
5) lastly... what would someone suggest to a new person to armouring in regards to gauntlets and kabuto?
If you're new, there's no excuse to not start right. If you're going to get a new helmet anyway (assuming you don;t have someone's used one), get something good that fits with the rest of the harness. As for hands, well, I still haven't found anything that works well and looks good for myself, so little enough advice there except that baskets look bad, plastic ones doubly so. Gauntlets are more versatile.
