I've posted a progress pic of the jingasa I'm working on over on the armor archive. There are links to some other in progress pieces as well.

When I first saw sca-jingasa, I thought "How dumb." (Your's weren't the first ones I saw, Mykaru-dono). But, they make sense for those who wish to portray ashigaru. And they make sense as helms to match with loaner/retainer armor.
Now, I like 'em.

Well I PLAN on offering ashigaru Ogekawa dou fairly soon. The same pattern as my others, but all pieces welded (except the kusazuri of course). I have to clear up a problem with my laser cutting service and by a new TIG first.

Welded? Cool. No rivet marks. Classic okashi-do. Tony

Some fabric sunshade sort of noren in the back with livery on the fabric and perhaps the front of the jingasa would totally make theese cool helmets...In situe with some good okashi do and spears or teppo...(oops...perhaps not teppo...but a man can dream, eh?) and one could legitimately arm a whole army with them inexpensively...I like it... hmmmm, a welded Ogekawa do, Sounds like a plan. Have you figured out a possible cost for such a thing yet Mykaru?

No price on the Dou yet. I've got to get the new TIG and actually figure out production time first.
