Hey there.
Had a quick question on kusazuri. As mentioned in the past, I'm making a suit out of the Noble kozane. Backed with shiki, and with the backs slathered in shoe-goo, they are pretty burly and seem to be working out nicely.
However, the shoe-goo is pretty visible on the back, even though its clear (uncolored). On the do and sode, this isn't a problem, as they will be backed with cloth.
Was the same ever done to kusazuri? I'd like to back those in cloth as well, but I'm not sure how often, if ever, that was done, and I can seem to find any pictures or descriptions that would tell me one way or another.
Thanks in advance...

I do believe Otagiri-dono, and Ryokai-dono both have there's backed with cloth to cut down on the noise some.

I've seen it done, but I think it was an Edo thing. I'll check my books when I have a chance.
