Hi
I just want to let you know that there is a small but interesting kabuto exhibition in the National Museum in Tokyo (untill the beginning of july I believe). There are about 19 kabuto on display, some of them are rather famous. So if you would be in the neighbourgood, you should drop in. They also have some other very famous armour sets on display in another place of the buidling (5 in total, they rotate every few weeks/months).
I took about 300 pictures and need some time to go over them to see what is presentable and what not. I tried to take also some closeups (through the glass and handheld) as this might interest some of you. (and not many books have them :-( )
I will post a link if I ever finish editing them. (But I did not want to take the risk that you would miss this exhibition if you happend to be here. The 450 yen is by the way probably the best money you can spend in Tokyo as the complete museum is gorgeous...)

Hi, As promised some pictures from the exhibition. I probably should be more selective as I kept more detailed pictures then most people could stand, but I guess you are the right public for this. (I might delete some in the coming days to make a better selection) Some of this armour you may recognise, but I also have to warn you that a few are replica kabuto (but good enough for the National Museum, so...) Some pictures are not that good (all manual focus, handheld) but I kept them to give you a better reference. Anyway, I hope you enjoy them. (a few pictures as appetiser) all new pictures: www.pbase.com/joanseeuw/national_museum_5 Jo (he)
