Ok, the template cutting for the go mai mogami do is moving on apace. Tateage and munaita cut for front and back, same with the lower plates for front and back as well as wakiita (sp?) I have a question about the side plates one for left and two overlapped for the opening on the right.... were these single plates or were they laced lames, as on the front and back? I have cut templates for both but can't decide which looks more accurate. Suggestions?? veejay (buried in bits of posterboard)

I don't know how many different ways I can say this: If it's a mogami do, then: THE ENTIRE BODY IS LAMES, and THERE ARE FIVE SECTIONS (front, back, left, and two half-rights; all made of LAMES), and that it's SUGAKE ODOSHI.

Thank you sensei....that's what I thought... then someone who's dabbled in armour making here at home showed me pictures of stuff he made insisting it was correct. ..and the whole thing got confused again.... Was simply seeking some clarity (not to mention sanity) Domo arigato veejay

No problem. It seems that for some reason a lot of people have problems with the typology, and mogami-do tend to really mess people up. Don't know why. I normally love mysteries, but this one baffles me. Effingham
