Greetings all.
I have a call for help. Earlier, a post was made that had a link to a kyudo site demonstrating the proper protocols in a kyudojo. This animation included the 8 hassetsu, but more importantly showed the proper flow of kyudoka into the dojo and the sequence on the shooting line, timing and all.
Forgive my short memory, but I cannot recall when/where/who posted, and I would truly love to have it saved on my system for reference. I have been long away from Sensei DeProspero and have gotten rusty in my skill. I have animation of the hassetsu, but am shaky on the timing when there are other kyudoka.
Thank you in advance.

Ethafoam and 2"x4" splinters. Brings back memories, that does.

Since the topic is archery, I'd like to share these. Your right wrist should not be bent. Hikiwake should not be strained.

Thanks, I see that now. It's one of the flaws I have. I also think my feet should be further apart. I am working to improve, though. One thing about shooting, you can't see yourself doing it, even if your in front of a mirror. I be shooting at Pennsic, so hopefully I can work on the flaws more.

Agreed, the correct stance almost looks unnatural, but you get used to it. One thing about shooting, you can't see yourself doing it, even if your in front of a mirror. I be shooting at Pennsic, so hopefully I can work on the flaws more. When I was at Sensei DeProspero's dojo, I video taped a session. You learn a great deal by watching yourself. I recommend it.

thank you, another book to add to my "buy list". i have a quick question, i have noticed many pictures of the archers not wearing the sleeve on the arm holding the bow, why is that? Because Japanese sleeves are big and billowy, and you wouldn't want your arrow or bowstring to catch on one? Look at the pictures of archers where they are wearing sleeves. You'll notice in the photos from the HI competition that the archers are all wearing tightly bound sleeves. In the other photos, it's undershirt sleeves, which are much smaller than kosode sleeves.
