If I had stayed in Caid, I'd be definately going.. Having gone to the event since GWW 2 and would have gone last year but they cancelled it due to park problems.
I will be there in Spirit because I cannot attend, physically.
BTW, for those fighters wishing to talk to a bunch of Mercenaries to hire them for your side? Look up Legion. They may look like very uncivilized barbarians, but they get the job done in a fight. Trust me, I'm one of those mercenaries... shh, don't tell... I'm basically just a support crew now that I've retired from heavy fighting.

I sent my pre-registration in last night and should be somewhere among the West's might (if painfully barbarian) forces.

Risen yeast is cast Into the purest waters Pearls of rice entombed Ten days in darkness dwelling Strain jollity for one's cup.
Take your ease, o friend, Among bright lanterns and taste Nihon's true delights. In harmony we gather To celebrate the harvest.
In the spirit of harmony, this person humbly wishes to invite you to the House Of Cheerful Monkeys for a sake tasting on Friday evening of Great Western War. Green tea will also be served to those who prefer not to imbibe. Poets and tellers of tales most welcome!

The House of Cheerful Monkeys will be open to guests at Mists Coronet on Saturday evening, September 22, in the spirit of harmony towards my relentlessly namban friends and neighbors here in the West. I don't think "dry run" is quite appropriate, but it will be something of a field test, nonetheless.
As Their Highnesses of the Mists have planned many, many, MANY activities to tire and stupefy their populace, I expect that (a) I will have a light turnout and (b) people will be more likely to partake of a dessert course with their potables. One of my friends has Asian pear trees in his yard and I have scored several lovely ones which shall be served sliced and arranged into seasonal chrysanthemum shapes. (I shall also be serving some Moonstone Asian Pear sake. Yes, it IS yuppie sake, but it's quite pleasant and nice for convincing the namban that sake is worth trying, particularly the girly-fruity-drink drinkin' crowd.)
A visit to the Ranch 99 Market in El Cerrito has yielded candied chestnuts, dorayaki, some lovely pastries in the shape of maple leaves, Choya plum wine intriguingly packaged in single serving jars* and two bottles of sake that will be as new to me as they will be to my guests. *I am not a plum wine afficionado, but I am told that Choya is one of the better ones. Should it convince me sufficiently, I will invest in one of the larger bottles with plums floating in the bottom.
(Note to Solveig-hime and anyone else who cares: they carry the jellied wagashi in both red bean and a green tea flavor.)

I absolutely hate attending wars where the weather is beautiful, the fighting fun and the company good. ;D Looking forward to seeing/meeting those on the Board that will be attending.
