A Thousand Thank You's
I am so glad I had a chance to camp with Rising Sun this year.
Yagyu-dono, You're amazing. Thank you for putting everything together and making this all happen.
Saionji-hime, Your humble wisdom and taiko madness made it a joy to come back to camp after a long night at Troll.
Aki(?)mori, It brought joy to my heart to be able to come out of my tent and see Fujiyama every day... and to know all that space, that cavernous expansive tent was meant for one solitary being.
Hapshetsut, Thank you for a crappy book and lovely company.
If there is one thing that I will take away from this war camping with the nobles of Rising Sun it is this: You've got to establish wrist control.

No "Thank You"s needed my friends, I always just like to have all of the things waiting for you that you can not bring yourselves because of the long road trips that you take to come to my humble kingdom. If it wasn't for the attendees of the "Rising Sun" encampment, I would find it hard to enjoy my event.
I have to thank Ujimoto and his crew for always lending my a hand when I was frustrated with things beyond anyone's control. If it wasn't for them I would have broken many things.
Lash-dono, as always it is a pleasure to fight next to you, we always end up in the most interesting situations.
I also have to thank Saionji-hime for bringing the sunshine with her so we wouldn't have a swamp of a war again. After she brought her noble presents to the event, everything seemed to fall into place.
Next year, though, if it rains we will just have Rising Sun at my house and day trip it out! ;D
And just remember "Eat at Yagyu's".

Makiwara-Donae please excuse this one for not introducing myself at estrella but you were engaged with a crown personage and I did not want to interupt with a feeble attempt at platitudes. I am a fighter I dont have the eleoquent words of Ujimoto-dono or Yagyu-dono . I dont need anymore help looking foolish. My fellow warmaster and I had a very limited time to visit since our house was invited to sir kiegan's house for an event . I promise the next event you are at I will MAKE time to visit and emberass myself with my fumbling attemtps at being "proper" . My clan will be attending Highlands war in june this year maybe I will see you there !! Lash

Gunaydin, arkadashlarim!
I was very pleased to see that Rising Sun was again a success - it pleases me greatly that an ethnically-themed camp such as yours has done so well.
The gate (again) added quite a bit to the look - as well as being an excellent landmark.
I am sorry that (yet again) I managed to not meet Yagyu Ghazi, but did get a chance to meet many of the camp's inhabitants - next year's campaign, perhaps...

I'm a wee bit late here, but I did enjoy the awesomeness that was estrella XXV.
After reading this, I had one question, that I hope is not taken offensively...
What is this Rising Sun I'm reading about?

I came back from Pennsic two summers ago duly inspired by visits to the encampment of Clan Yama Kaminari and said "what if?" And a bunch of people on this forum said, "Yes, lets!" Thus was born Rising Sun, our own Japanese themed encampment. We're not a clan. We're not a household. We're a bunch of like minded maniacs from all over the Known World who have managed to camp together two years in a row and have a good time doing so. Particular thanks go to Yagyu Tametomo of Atenveldt and his lady Hatshepsut. Yagyu-dono got us land and has graciously furnished much of our camp infrastructure. www.flickr.com/photos/70104978@N00/sets/72157603946634507/ shows some of the Rising Sun gang and various visiting co-conspirators during our maiden Estrella. He or I (or both!) will probably be posting announcements in the fall as to future plans.

Thanks! So its more of an informal, like minded friends camping together? Sounds quite fun. You always were the smart one. I've been off doing my not so asian thing, but it seems the Japanese side keeps calling me back, so here I am, working on clothing and contemplating new armour. I'm so indecisive. Keep me in the loop please, I'm planning to attend Estrella again next year, and if my stuff is finished, would love to join your encampment. Hiro (BTW, how have you been?)

So its more of an informal, like minded friends camping together? Sounds quite fun. It was - aside from Kurosawa-esque mud the first year (as seen in the photos I posted earlier) and a couple of bitterly cold nights the second. All things being fortuitous, we'll do it again. Keep an eye out for announcements on the Tousando over the next few months.
